Royal Academy of Music Summer Piano Festival
Curated by Joanna MacGregor, Head of Piano Department of Royal Academy of Music, Summer Piano Festival is a three-day music feast happening annually. This year’s focus is Robert Schumann, and all the events are free admission. I will perform in the last concert of the festival alongside with many amazing friends and colleagues including Joanna herself!

Royal Academy of Music Museum event - Bach Lecture Recital
Pianist and harpsichordist Xiaowen Shang offers a deep dive into Bach’s second set of preludes and fugues, played on three keyboard instruments from the Academy’s collection.

Swaledale Festival
Pianist and harpsichordist Xiaowen Shang, a 2024 BBC Music Magazine Rising Star, is known for her versatility and stylish approach to music of many eras. Tonight she plays French keyboard works spanning two centuries: Messiaen’s birdsong piece La Fauvette Passerinette, only recently uncovered in the composer’s archive; Couperin’s poetic 14th Suite; and Ravel’s impressionist Le Tombeau de Couperin.
